Bathroom Monologue: Renegade Sons and Gatorade Moms, Redux Drabble


Dear Son,

Firstly, the state of West Virginia abolished the death penalty decades ago. No hangman is coming for you.

You’ve been like this ever since I was elected. You’re in your twenties now! I'll never forget the August you attacked that nice police officer for pulling you over.

Were you speeding again? Lord, if your grandfather could see you.

By the time you read this you’ll be a free man. Please remember, little renegade, that I worked very hard so you could have it made. I'd appreciate some gratitude. At least stop getting arrested in verse.

    Well, I didn't listen to too much of that video ^__^ (loud)

    However, he should listen to his Mama or as Tim says no one is gonna want him!! ^_^

    I saw Styx at the Glasgow Apollo in 1979 or 1980. I think they supported Rush on their Hemispheres tour...The gig is considered one of Rush's finest moments..(jealous, are we??) All I can remember about Styx though was spandex, big hair and soft focus...the audience were psyched up to see Rush, so they didn't get a look in.

    ...And now I am deaf..

    Well, that was odd. Instead of a comment box, there was a poll. At least reloading fixed things.

    This is quite amusing. They block video at work, so I didn't get to see it, but figured it out from the other comments. That's pretty darn funny, really! "Stop getting arrested in verse." LOL

    Ahhh, a classic song. It's funny how these singers keep getting into the same trouble 3 or 4 times within a single song :)
