Bathroom Monologue: Last Isle of Civility



"You could be poor enough to be forced to skip meals, and not a single public worker didn't, and you could be poor enough to starve, and many poor souls did, and you could be poor enough to reuse teabags, and we often had to suffer the indignity, but no one in the country could be so poor as to go without tea."

  1. Not any longer anyway. For such a long time, tea was a luxury kept in locked tea caddies.
    Isn't it interesting how our definitions of luxuries and necessities shifts over time and culture?

    1. And I refuse to consider what today's necessities are. Sceaming and pulling of hair is not a look I aspire to.
