"Child Eaters" at Thaumatrope.

My tweet-short, “Child Eaters,” was published by Thaumatrope. You can read all two lines of it by clicking here.

The story was actually spotlighted over on Fiction Daily. Hilarious though it may be, they reproduced only the first sentence. It becomes more John Cheever like this, don't you think?

Thanks to both Thaumatrope and Fiction Daily for the publication and spotlight.

  1. LOL. That really only needed the two lines; didn't it? Awesome.

  2. Love the bit. You're not credited at all in either link though. *puzzled*

  3. Thanks folks! Glad you liked my tiny one. This might be the shortest thing I've ever been paid for.

Karen, Thaumatrope classically does not cite authors when they tweet out stories. They do a #followfriday author post late in the week. As for Fiction Daily, maybe they just didn't care to look it up? With as much fiction as they process, it might even be partially automated.

  4. Ah. Thanks for clearing that up. Wouldn't want to get worry lines from having a puzzled brow.

  5. Thank you for inquiring, Karen. I thought it was funny of Fiction Daily to omit both the end and the byline.

  6. Can they just delete a line like that? Strange...But funny either way.

  7. Since it was posted so long ago I wanted to respond here as well...your pledgie drive is touching and I wanted to say that her pain sounds similar to fibromyalgia...which I have. If you or your friend are interested in talking to me about the disease, click over to my blog for my email or comment on a post and I'll get back to you.

Best of luck to your friends.
