Bathroom Monologue: Indicators I Got Old This Year

-Put several items back in the grocery store in order to afford lettuce

-Began making my bed rather than just wrapping the sheets around myself when I got tired

-Marathon editing sessions began to hurt my eyes and vision;
concerned party said, “It looks like your mascara is running”

-Finally began giving up on bad books
rather than seeing every one through to the end

-Finally began giving away or selling
lots of books and other media I’m not using anymore

-Learned how to cook waffles for myself

-Spent a full weekend filing

-Calculated my LDL for the first time

  1. the making the bed, giving away stuff are something I do as well, I had to look up LDL to know what it means

though anything you do to move on are signs that you're getting old, at least for me anyway.

hope you have a nice time making waffles.

  2. Crap. I've been old for a long time.

  3. I got gray hair last year. That was upsetting. While technically I'm mature in years, I still get surprised when I no longer look like an 18 year old. I also get frustrated every once in a while when responsibility is expected from me. Your post made me think of

  4. Mmm waffles, definitely the silver lining.

  5. Oh dear. It seems I have been a dinosaur forever. Just the same, would you be a teenager again? Not me. They were hard years.

  6. I'm with you re: Giving up on bad books. It's okay to not finish it! Move on to the next one!

  7. You're only as old as you feel. Your LDL count, though, that's objective fact and doesn't care how old you feel.

  8. I've been old since high school.
